History of the Auberge sur le Lac

Built in 1926 on lake St-Pierre, the Auberge sur le Lac was originally called Hôtel sur le Lac (Hotel on the Lake). in 1944 a fellow by the name of M. Charest bought the hotel et ramained owner until 1955.

In 1955, Léo Gravelle and his brother-in-law Wilfrid Simonson acquired the Hotel. Léo Gravelle had played for the Montreal Canadians in the National Hockey League from 1946 to 1951 and was traded to Detroit for Burt Olmstead. A transaction that shook the Hockey world in 1951.

In 1961, the Hotel was sold to the Amyot family and later to a Paul Charbonneau who had the Hotel managed by Paul Corneau.

In October 2006, the hotel was acquired by the Marie-Anne Richard and Ronald Bertrand who renamed it "Auberge sur le Lac" (Inn on the Lake).
The new owners renovated the site with taste. They called the restaurant "La Petite Marmite" which is open for dinner from Thursday to Sunday, lunch from friday to Sunday and breakfast on weekends.

The rooms are comfortable and the owners are now planning the addition of multiuse rooms to be used for banquets, meetings, weddings, reunions or any other occasion.

We are presently compiling a number of pictures of the Inn to complete our archives.
